Draft UK Trade Mark (EU Exit) legislation introduced

The UK government has now laid draft trade mark legislation before parliament which is intended to come into force on exit day and provides more certainty concerning the continued protection of the UK part of an EUTM following Brexit.

On 28 November 2018, The Trade Marks (Amendments etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 and The Intellectual Property (Exhaustion of Rights) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 were laid before both Houses of the UK Parliament.
